I've used several different solderless cable kits (Lava Cable ELC Ultramafic solderless, Planet Waves) to set up my pedal board now and I have to say that George L's are the best. I've come to this conclusion by comparing all the different features of cable kits that are important to guitar players:Plug profileCable thicknessEase of assemblyQuality of soundLooksGeorge L's plugs are small but they're not the smallest. There are other cable kits out there with lower profile plugs than George L's. Having said that they're about half an inch tall and a little less than half an inch in diameter. Not as small as Lava cable plugs but way smaller than anything from Planet Waves. Plenty small for most pedal board purposes.George L's beats all other cable kits that I've used in the cable thickness and ease of assembly categories. The cable itself is really thin which really saves precious space on your pedal board when you have to connect several different pedals. The cables are also really easy to put together. Just cut the cable to desired length, push in the cable in and screw in the cap. Done. This was much easier than Lava cable's solderless kit which involved stripping cables, pushing them through special caps, making sure the shielding doesn't touch the cable and a few additional steps. As far as quality of sound, I didn't do any extensive testing but I didn't hear any discernible difference in my guitar tone between George L cables or any other cables. Finally, they look cool! This isn't that important to me but it might be for other guitar players out there. The shiny nickel plugs with the screw on caps look cool on your board. The kit comes with rubber caps that encase the entire plug but I purposely left those off because I like the look of the shiny nickel on my pedal board.Bottom line, just buy George L's. These aren't the cheapest ones on the market but they are the best in my opinion. The few extra dollars are worth it for the quality of this kit.
