Works well however I do not like the spindle lock, maybe I do not have the coordination to hold it. I do have many Porter Cable tools and Black and Decker yard tools. Nice having the same batteries for all, with a little PC modification. It goes through batteries pretty quickly and isn’t all that powerful but it’s what I expected. It still works great for my needs. I got tired of trying to use 3-4 corded tools at s time and dealing with the extension cord. This grinder was exactly what I needed when I needed it! For someone like me who doesn't do alot of home improvements or dyi projects porter cables tools definitely excel and are easy-to-use without any manuals or instructions, and are quietest tools I've seen by far. I've owned porter cable tools now for 3 years and it was definitely worth purchasing them!! Highly suggested for anyone who does home improvements, dyi, construction, or just starting out and doesn't know what tools to buy!!!I’ve used this grinder on a bunch of metal over the last 3 months and it has remained solid. It’s just a tough little tool that will get the job done. I’ve dropped it several times and cut over 200’ of sheet metal and it just keeps on going. I like to be able to move the side grip from the right side to the left depending on how I need to hold the tool and work the metal.Porter-cable makes the most affordable power tools in the world. The batteries last for so longCan’t beat the price. The tool works very well, I like the fact that there is a On/Off switch coupled with a trigger without a safety added.Very useful tool around my place. Cuts metal with ease. Enough power to complete anything I’ve thrown at it. Battery powered tools are a must! This thing is great for small scale home projects for the DIYer. Ive had a few unfinished projects where this tool enabled me to get some things done. One in particular…i had to modify the height of the leaning post on my boat by cutting out a 3” section and re-welding it together. It consists of 1” stainless steel tubing. The angle grinder evenly sliced thru the tubing like a hot knife in butter. Then i was able to smooth the edges evenly using the grinder. The spin is smooth and the battery lasted the entire project with plenty of juice to spare. I did a similar project a few months ago using a sawz-all…what a train wreck! Of course it does not have the brawn of a corded tool, but it is so convenient to use. I did put a "demolition" blade on ($25 on Amazon), fiely segmented with industrial diamonds. I cut heavy sheet metal ductwork corners, drywall openings, rough cut wooden trims off, cur ceramic tiles and complicated parts of profiled steel roof panels. Yet to cut PVC pipe and sharpen some sawzall blades and drill bits - with different wheel, but it will do fine, I am sure. I bought a pair of OME larger batteries on here too - 4 Ah and they last reasonably well. Tool is surprisingly hefty and easy to handle.Grinder comes with two 1/8" cut off wheels, a 1/4" grinding wheel, two guards, a screw in side handle and a detailed instruction booklet which should be very helpful for anyone who has never used a similar tool and wants to do so safely, all securely and nicely packaged in a durable box. If you don't already have PC cordless tools and batteries a battery must be purchased separately which can add considerable cost. This tool is sleeker and lighter than corded grinders, is easy to hold and operate and the cordless portability is a big plus. It does not have a variable speed control and high RPMs available in a corded grinder, but the tool speed and power should be quite sufficient for lighter jobs. I have not yet used it much so can not give an 'experienced' opinion on its performance and durability, but I have several other Porter Cable Cordless tools and am very pleased with them, so I am inclined to extrapolate from my experience with those tools to assume that I will be equally satisfied with their grinder.Being a brushed motor it goes through batteries pretty quick(I was running 4ah). But overall it gets the job done and it beats an extension cord. The biggest issue with porter cable is that it has seemed to be forgotten by stanley black and decker. The tools they have are dated and I don't remember the last time porter cable tools where updated or even new tools added. The only reason to buy this angle grinder is if you're already invested in porter cable batteries. Otherwise if you're just starting out look for a different brand.Good tool for cutting and grinding in area where it is difficult to get power. Comes with cutting and grinding disks. Nice feel in hand when being used.
